Carla Anne Ernst – Employee Engagement Advocate
Strategic. Creative. Fresh thinking. Fun. Carla advances organizations to new levels by creating clear, distinctive and effective internal brand strategies and communications programs that deliver outstanding targeted business results.
Inspired by the intrinsic value of Arthur W. Page’s idea that “A company’s true character is expressed by its people,” Carla builds high-performance internal cultures of commitment through compelling, research-based strategic communications that drive targeted business results, particularly during organizational change. As a tested source of leadership, she is experienced in consumer products, B2B, healthcare and the not-for-profit industry sectors.
She is known for her unique approach by finding common ground among diverse constituents, building differentiated, credible and market-relevant internal brands, and bestowing a positive and energetic spirit through behavior and communications.
Carla has worked for numerous industry leaders and has served in senior level communications positions at Johnson & Johnson, Hill & Knowlton and Burson-Marsteller.
Carla participates in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). She has served on the boards for a wide range of community service and cultural organizations such as the Pro Arte Singers in greater New York City, Common Ground of Southeastern Wisconsin and the Working Writers of Wisconsin.
Carla has produced several films for PBS, including award-winning projects such as A&E’s To Dance for Gold, Portrait of a Profession for the ADA, First Born and Becoming a Family for PBS. She also is an ASCAP film & television composer, having penned numerous tunes and motivational songs for leading brands such as Jolly Green Giant, McDonald’s, Kellogg’s and Kraft Foods, and has scored themes for CBS, WNBC-TV, Sesame Street and PBS.
For fun, Carla races in the SONAR sailboat class, with team wins in several North American Regattas on Long Island Sound and on the Mackinac race in the Great Lakes. When not sailing, she can be found chasing her escaping American Foxhound Louie Ernst during frequent romps across much of rural America.
